Thank you to Jack and All the Professionals for sponsoring the Thanksgiving Basket Brigade last night. As many of you know last night was “Ladies Night out” in Gig Harbor. It looks to me like it was a Real Success. at least I can tell you a LOT of people came by Jax’s Salon to share in the evenings event. Many left as new volunteers for this years Basket Brigade. And I got to visit with many former volunteers who will be returning this year to help.

Thanks to all of you that are out there helping procure for this years Basket Brigade. The family names are coming in daily. We have 1,000 boxes that were donated by the Box Store. Right now ALL of those Boxes are out being decorated by kids in the elementary schools, and Lighthouse Christian School and many Girl Scout and Boy Scout troops.
Now that I Have your attention!
Mark your calendar for Saturday October 25, 2014 at Sehmel Park. Volunteers from dozens of Community Organizations (including the Gig Harbor Basket Brigade) will join forces to make a difference in our community. We are challenging all area schools, businesses and families to join in helping to set a Guiness World Record. “The plan is simple, Fun, and all ages can help build the largest maze of donated canned food Ever!”
After the event the food will be split between the Gig Harbor Basket Brigade and the local Food Bank. It will also put us in the running for one of 14 – $10,000 grants from Newman’s Own to help us make an even bigger impact.
